Hello everyone!
This was a very busy weekend for the non-hip hippies. And tons of fun as well!
On Sunday we packed our biggest suitcase, loaded it with tons of “Lou” books and headed to Amsterdam, to set up our first ever market stall, at the Pop-Up market of the Amsterdam Small Business Network.
As you can imagine, I was pretty anxious. Attending a market for the first time as a seller is challenging enough on its own. Now imagine having an (almost) 6 months old baby around as well.
This is why I want to start this post with a big THANK YOU to N., for being such a supportive partner and taking great care of Loulou, while mama was busy with business. Without his help neither Loulou nor Lou would have been born 🙂
Apart from feeding, changing, entertaining and taking Loulou for walks, N. also managed to capture some great pictures of the market. Enjoy!
The Pop-Up market took place at Pistache and it was a great space for such an event. Not too big, not too small with a nice lay-out.
Aaaaand now that you got an idea about the ambiance of the event, it’s time to present to you Lou, the sparrow’s stall.

(after the end of the event I found out I was not supposed to have a candle -for safety reasons, I guess. Sorry!)
I would encourage you to go on this page and check out the websites of ALL the participants, because they are just lovely people that put a lot of effort and passion into their work and that definitely shows. There are two of them who deserve a special mention: Kesemy Design and Francesca Aikman. I got some great advice from them and had lovely chats throughout the day. Also, it was nice to have some gorgeous art surrounding Lou from both sides!
It was a great day and if you have a small business yourself, I definitely recommend finding and joining a market. It is great way to see how people respond to your product in person, to listen to their suggestions and ideas, in order to improve, and to learn from people with more experience.
I am really looking forward to Saturday, when Lou will fly to the Finnish School Christmas Market, in Amsterdam.
See you there, maybe?
