We are thrilled to share with you that we had the 20 week ultrasound, also known as “the anomaly scan” or “the anatomy scan” and the tech is pretty sure that we are having a little daughter. We are beyond excited, have a long list of absurd and ridiculous names that we love and are so relieved that everything is going fine so far.
For those of you who are not familiar with the whole craze that pregnancy is, the 20 week ultrasound is usually the one when the doc will tell you if something is fundamentally wrong. As I heard the tech say “that looks good… that looks fine… that looks normal” I got all emotional while thinking all those parents who hear “there is an issue there… something doesn’t seem right… this measurement is off the charts” and so on. I feel SO grateful that I can not put it into words. And we were really lucky to have a tech who spoke perfect English and explained every measurement she took and every image on the screen in great detail.
We are already in love with her.2014 is going to be such an exciting year!
And since we are on the pregnant side of life, I wanted to share with you this post that I found really profound and moving (and I am pretty sure it’s not just pregnancy hormones).
P.S.: Regular foodie post will follow. Bare with us.
